I’m a graduate of Columbia University’s School of Social Work and I have been working in community mental health for more than a decade.
I specialize in helping women, millennials and high achievers with:
I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood. My approach is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and collaboration. I work with clients to explore the patterns, experiences, and emotions that shape their lives, while creating a space where they can safely express themselves without judgment. People often come to me when they’re feeling stuck — in relationships, in their sense of self, or in old cycles that no longer serve them. Together, we slow things down, make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface, and build practical tools for meaningful change.
Clients should know that I bring warmth, curiosity, and a deep respect for their lived experiences into the therapy room. I approach therapy as a collaborative process, where your voice and goals guide our work. I integrate Narrative Therapy and use humor thoughtfully to create connection, ease, and insight. I'm not here to “fix” you—I’m here to walk alongside you as you explore, reframe, and grow. I believe change happens when people feel seen, heard, and safe enough to be their full selves.
Welcome! I am so glad you stopped here to learn more about me- I hope you can determine if we will be a good fit. I was born and raised in Maine and love the outdoors and all of the many great things our rugged geography has to offer. I have a Master's degree in clinical social work from Boston University. I enjoy helping clients work through trauma and utilize EMDR to facilitate this process. I am EMDR trained by Paula F. Harry, MS LCSW through EMDR Consulting, an EMDRIA approved trainer. I also utilize aspects of CBT to help clients with anxiety related disorders. I have worked with people of all ages and have specialized in working with children in the past.

Greetings! My name is Emily and I bring over a decade of clinical experience to our sessions as well as certifications in holistic disciplines such as yoga teacher training and reiki. I’m trained in EMDR which I’ve found to be immensely helpful for many individuals in processing trauma and anxiety-based blockages. I have additional expertise in treating PTSD, parenting support, body positivity, relationship stressors, healing from abuse, OCD, and personality disorders. I also care deeply about systemic oppression and advocacy, the spiritual elements of healing, and maximizing the mind-body connection with somatic practices to regulate the nervous system. I also believe all individuals contain a deeply creative voice and that nurturing and igniting this voice is key to sustained recovery.
I have always had a passion for helping others, and know from experience what a difference it makes finding the right counselor. Through my career I have worked with a diverse group of adults and adolescents across the US. I bring 8 years of knowledge, compassion, and experience to our sessions. I can't wait to get started with you!
Asking for help is difficult, but it’s worth it for the relief it brings. In 30 years of professional experience, I have witnessed the transformative power of therapy. I specialize in working with adult individuals. I am genuinely interested in you and your human experience. How has it shaped you? What obstacles has it erected in your path? Let’s get curious about it all. My complete respect and empathy are always present.
I love working with older teens and adults who are overwhelmed by life’s stressors. You feel as though you are spiraling out of control and you are exhausted. Completing daily tasks may feel like more than you can handle, or you cannot focus for long enough to get them done. Perhaps you feel tense and on edge most of the time. You want to be more meaningfully engaged in your relationships, your work, or school, but you find it difficult to do so.
