I have over 30 years experience in the field and 25 years as a therapist. I received a Master of Arts in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from Naropa University in 2000. I work with adults and adolescents in addressing depression/bipolar, anxiety, trauma, stress, grief, anger, suicidal thoughts, life changes, illness/aging, relationships, sexuality and gender identity, spirituality, and existential issues.
Counseling is my second career as I spent well-over a decade working on an ambulance in EMS. I am passionate about showing up for people on their toughest days and helping support them through the inevitable challenges that life brings. No one should have to go through hard things alone. I particularly enjoy working with first responders, healthcare workers, veterans and teens as I have a great deal of care and comfort working with these individuals.
I am a trauma-focused therapist and I work with adolescents, adults and couples navigating anxiety, depression, PTSD, childhood abuse, and other distressing life experiences.
I’m really glad you’re here.
Many of the people I work with are used to being capable, thoughtful, and strong for others, but inside, something feels off. You might be dealing with anxiety, depression, burnout, or a sense that you’ve lost connection with yourself. Sometimes it’s not just about what’s happening right now, but patterns that have been quietly shaping your life for a long time.
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Colorado, with over 20 years experience working across a wide range of settings, including community mental health, mobile crisis and co-response, skilled nursing, public health, and critical access hospitals. This background allows me to meet you where you are, whether you’re navigating everyday stress or something more complex, to bring both depth and compassion to our work.
I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, substance use concerns, life transitions (career, relationships, health, identity shifts), and the lingering impact of stress or past experiences.
I help highly sensitive persons navigate the stressors and challenges in the world to find their authentic self and a life worth embracing. Do you think deeply about the world, yourself, and those around you? Do you experience a profound sense of empathy, feeling more deeply than most people around you? Do you find challenges in communicating your inner most thoughts and feelings with others? Do feel lost and want to find a way to get back on track? I am here to guide you on your journey.
Let's face it: life can be an absolute rollercoaster. Sometimes you're coasting smoothly, and sometimes you're staring straight down a terrifying drop. If you're feeling overwhelmed by a crisis, suffocated by anxiety or depression, tangled up in family issues, or burned out by occupational stress, you don't have to white-knuckle it alone.
I’m Tawny Meyers, and I specialize in meeting people exactly where they are—especially when they feel like they're standing in the middle of a messy pile of problems. I believe the most effective therapy is built on a foundation of genuine connection, warmth, and, yes, a little bit of humor. We’ll definitely laugh sometimes, because let's be honest, if we can't find a way to laugh, we're probably crying.
