I am a licensed clinical psychologist originally trained in NYC at St. John’s University. My main area of focus is on burnout recovery (both individual and group therapy offerings; see website mirnamejiaphd.com for group therapy description).
Additional specialties include the treatment of anxiety, depression, and PTSD. I'm also particularly interested in the treatment of chronic health conditions, including chronic pain and insomnia, including how emotional functioning impacts overall physical well-being.
My clients see me as warm, relatable, and easygoing. I completed my Master's in Mental Health Counseling at SUNY New Paltz in 2016 and have been working directly with clients of all backgrounds ever since.
I work with adults who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or trying to make sense of themselves during stressful or transitional periods of life. Many of the people I work with are navigating anxiety, burnout, work-related stress, or the emotional toll of caring for others. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and able to approach challenges with greater clarity and confidence.
I have particular experience working with young adults, young professionals, healthcare workers, first responders, and men—especially those who may be new to therapy or unsure where to start. Through my work across emergency, outpatient, residential, and telehealth settings, I’ve supported individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and life circumstances. This has shaped me into a flexible and adaptable clinician who is comfortable meeting clients where they are.
I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor and Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor, who specialized in both traditional talk therapy and EMDR therapy. Among my areas of expertise are anxiety, depression, substance use, relationships issues, trauma and more. I also have extensive experience working with gifted children, adults and their families, as well as individuals and families living with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Hello, Thank you for taking the time to view my profile. I have an extensive history working with individuals with substance, mental health, and other life issues and with diverse cultures, races, ages, and genders. I graduated from Fordham University School of Social Work with an MSW. I currently have an LCSW license, CASAC-Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor. I specialize in Trauma, Anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, Grief, depression, Bipolar, BPD, Substance Abuse disorders, Anger Management and other psychiatric conditions. I am also bilingual English and Spanish and have over 20 yrs of experience in the helping profession.
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with over a decade of experience in the helping profession, I specialize in working with adults (18+) navigating stress, anxiety, depression, and ADHD-related challenges. Many of my clients are professionals and executives operating in high-pressure environments who are used to pushing through, yet find themselves feeling overwhelmed, mentally fatigued, or stuck.
Clients often share that they feel comfortable opening up with me early in the process. I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space while focusing on clear, meaningful change. My approach is structured and goal-oriented, combining evidence-based strategies with practical tools that can be applied outside of sessions to improve focus, manage stress, and reduce burnout while enhancing day-to-day functioning.
I work best with individuals who are ready to engage in the process, gain clarity, and make intentional, lasting changes in both their personal and professional lives.
I come from a very diverse training background with 12 years of experience working with various cultures, races, ages, genders, and diagnoses. I believe change is always possible, but sometimes we just need a little help. I understand that human beings instinctively gravitate towards happiness, but at times feel stuck with achieving their goals. It is then wise to seek assistance from a professional who can help come up with some answers to produce positive changes in your life.
