I am a board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with a primary care background. I graduated from the University of Maryland School of Nursing. My focus areas are adults and geriatric patients.
Welcome--I'm glad that you're here. I'm a licensed clinical social worker with a master's degree from the University of Maryland. I specialize in anxiety, panic, OCD, trauma, depression, trust issues, self-esteem, life changes and anger management. I approach every client with openness and without judgment, always appreciating their individuality. I believe everyone has their own story, so I listen carefully and reflect thoughtfully. Beyond that, I work to identify practical solutions to help you achieve your goals and enhance your life.
I understand that seeking help can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or mood changes. As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), I provide compassionate, evidence-based care focused on helping you regain stability and move forward with confidence. I earned my MSN from Eastern Kentucky University and my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Missouri State University. With experience in urgent psychiatric care, inpatient psychiatry, and outpatient treatment, I work with you to create a personalized plan that supports healing, resilience, and long-term well-being.
Having grown up across diverse regions of Asia, later navigating life in the United States as a student, and now establishing herself as a permanent resident, Alice brings a deeply personal understanding of the complexities within this journey. Fluent in both English and Mandarin, she bridges cultural gaps with ease and creates a warm, inclusive, and supportive environment for every client she works with.
My name is Zalen “Zee” Crowder, and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level II (CCTP-II). I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and I am currently a PhD candidate in psychology, which allows me to bring both clinical depth and a broader, systems-informed perspective to the work I do with clients.
I specialize in helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, abandonment, and life transitions. My approach is direct, compassionate, and results-oriented. I create a space where you can be fully seen and understood, while also being challenged in ways that support real, lasting change. I am especially attuned to the ways past experiences shape current patterns, and I work collaboratively with you to break cycles that no longer serve you.
I have experience working with adolescents, adults, couples, families, and groups from a wide range of cultural and social backgrounds, including BIPOC communities, LGBTQIA+ individuals, military and veteran populations, individuals in open or polyamorous relationships, and people with disabilities. I value authenticity, cultural awareness, and meeting you exactly where you are without judgment.
Whether you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready for something different, therapy can be a powerful space to gain clarity, build confidence, and reconnect with yourself. My goal is to help you move forward with intention, not just insight.
I have more than 50 years of experience in the mental health field, including leadership, consultation, and direct clinical practice. I hold Master’s Degrees in Clinical Psychology and Medical Cannabis Therapeutics, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree from Towson State University.
My career includes serving as the State Director for Co-Occurring Disorder Services with Maryland’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Mental Hygiene Administration. I also worked as a consultant and faculty member with the University of Maryland Department of Psychiatry, Evidence-Based Practices Center, helping agencies develop and implement person-centered recovery plans grounded in evidence-based practice.
I help individuals and couples who feel overloaded, anxious, or stuck. Life can be exhausting when stress, anxiety and relationship problems start piling up. You might be doing everything you can to keep going, but still feeling tense, misunderstood and worn down. When things feel heavy for too long, it can impact your sleep, your confidence, and your ability to show up the way you want to.
I offer a calm, steady space where you can talk openly without judgment. My work is focused on helping you understand what you’re feeling, why it’s happening, and how to get relief. You’ll get support that feels real, straightforward, and grounded.
