I'm originally from New York City I've had personal and professional relationships with all cultures I believe for a therapist to help a client he must use love
I have a Master of Education degree, Specializing in Mental Health Counseling from Lindsey Wilson College. I am a new therapist at Empower Psychotherapy, but I have 25 years of experience in counseling, corrections, social services, and substance abuse. I was previously Clinical Director for an Inpatient Substance AbuseTreatment Program. I have facilitated adult and adolescent groups for 25 years in various settings to include residential facilities, mental health agencies, inpatient, and outpatient facilities on a variety of issues. These include communication and values, grief and loss, substance abuse and recovery, and other psychosocial topics and education.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor with years of experience working with adolescents and adults. I’ve worked in community mental health, substance use treatment, and leadership roles supervising other clinicians. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression, and substance use disorders. I believe therapy should be practical, respectful, and focused on real change.

One of my favorite quotes is, "Knowing yourself is the beginning of all Wisdom" by Aristotle and "The Purpose of Psychotherapy is to set people Free" by Rollo May, these quotes are certainly true when choosing psychotherapy. I understand that finding the right therapist is a individual and unique decision that begins by looking at your own needs and preferences. Challenges are a normal part of living and overcoming these challenges means we sometimes need to take a path of looking within and choose personal growth. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Behavior Analyst. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor's in Communication from Spalding University, a Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Spalding University, and a second Master's degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Campbellsville University. I am a EMDR Therapist and a Certified Havening Techniques Practitioner.
