As a mental health professional, Dr. Journey has a career working alongside predominantly people of color and people of faith who are looking for a healing space that is integrative and engaging. He has a Ph.D., in the areas of American religion, psychology, and culture which challenges him to care in a holistic manner for each person that he accompanies in the clinical space. Working with Dr. Journey means that you are invited to be your truest and most honest version of your self-in-progress!
I’m a licensed mental health counselor with a background in both outpatient therapy and crisis work. I’ve worked with individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, and significant life stressors, and I bring a practical, down-to-earth approach to therapy.
I have a special interest in supporting women who appear to have it all together but feel overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally exhausted. Together, we’ll work toward helping you feel more balanced, confident, and in control of your daily life.
I’m passionate about supporting clients as they navigate life’s challenges. I believe everyone deserves to have someone by their side through both the highs and the lows.
I take a person-centered approach to therapy, meeting you exactly where you are and creating a space where you feel safe, understood, and supported—especially during vulnerable moments. I show up as my authentic self in sessions so that you can feel comfortable doing the same. My goal is that each time we meet, you leave feeling at least a little lighter—whether that comes from feeling heard, gaining insight, or simply having a space to release what you’ve been carrying.
With over 15 years of experience, I bring both professional knowledge and genuine compassion into my work. I’m known for being kind, approachable, and deeply committed to the therapeutic process.
I’m also a certified yoga instructor and enjoy incorporating mindfulness and grounding techniques into sessions when it feels helpful. I believe in the connection between mind and body and strive to support clients in feeling more balanced, present, and connected to themselves.
It’s truly an honor to walk alongside my clients as they heal, grow, and move forward.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Psychotherapist. I strive to create a warm, welcoming space where clients feel genuinely seen and heard. Clients often describe me as caring, compassionate, and easy to talk to. I show up as a real, relatable person so clients can feel supported as they move toward healing and growth.
With nearly 10 years of experience providing therapy, I believe meaningful change happens when you feel both deeply understood and gently challenged. My style is warm, human, and occasionally sprinkled with humor- because therapy doesn't have to feel cold, clinical, or intimidating to be effective.
I specialize in working with OCD and anxiety, helping clients understand intrusive thoughts, compulsions, and the anxiety cycles that keep them going. Together, we focus on building tolerance for uncertainty, reducing compulsive behaviors, and increasing emotional flexibility.
I also have specialized training and experience in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and evidence-based therapy approach that helps people process trauma, reduce emotional intensity, and shift long-standing beliefs that no longer serve them.
In addition, I work with individuals navigating major life changes, including high-conflict divorce and the painful realities of parental alienation. These experiences can be isolating, overwhelming, and deeply destabilizing. My approach centers on helping clients regain a sense of grounding, clarity, and agency, while learning practical tools to cope with ongoing stress, grief, and complex family dynamics.
