Hi there! As a trauma-focused and existential EMDR Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I believe in the importance of connection, support, and finding meaning together.
I have extensive experience working with adolescents, adults, and first responders, and I believe that no matter where you are in life or what you're struggling with, you don't have to travel it alone.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, navigating relationship challenges, or trying to manage things like ADHD, PMDD, or hormone-related changes, you don’t have to figure it all out on your own. I know how much life can demand—balancing work, relationships, family, and everything in between can leave very little space to actually slow down and check in with yourself.
I work with adults and couples, and I really value creating a space that feels safe, supportive, and easy to show up in. My style is laid-back and genuine, and I care a lot about building a strong, collaborative connection so therapy feels helpful—not intimidating.
I’m a somatic, trauma-informed therapist based in Sebastopol, California. My work is somatic, and largely informed by Somatic Experiencing, a method for resolving trauma symptoms and nervous system regulation, and NARM, a somatic, depth-oriented model of working with developmental trauma. I also offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy remotely and in person in partnership with Journey Clinical. Rather than trying to “fix” symptoms, I aim to collaborate with clients to understand what their nervous system has learned through overwhelm, loss, or past harm, and how those patterns may still be shaping their experience in the present. I work in a way that prioritizes safety, pacing, and choice, supporting you in building greater capacity for connection, agency, and aliveness over time. My practice is explicitly health-at-every-size, sex-positive, gender-affirming, neurodivergence-affirming, and kink-aware. I specialize in working with folks from fat, 2SLGBTQIA+, BIPOC, disabled, neurodivergent, and ethically non-monogamous communities, and with people navigating trauma, anxiety, burnout, body image, identity exploration, life transitions, and relational patterns.
My hope is to be able to help others navigate life's obstacles with an authentic and nonjudgmental approach.
I specialized in Trauma while earning my degree and have helped many individuals, couples, and families work through and overcome the aftermath of traumatic events. I also have several years of experience helping people struggling with anxiety and depression.
One of the most important aspects of the therapeutic healing process is the connection between the client and therapist, so I encourage authentic communication if you do not feel we are a good fit as it can be an example of advocating for yourself in a powerful way.
Feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve you? You're not alone—and you don’t have to navigate it on your own.
I offer a compassionate, steady space where real healing can begin. Using a blend of Eye Movement, Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and Relational Life Therapy (RLT), we’ll uncover and gently process the life experiences and patterns that may be holding you back—so you can reconnect with your inner strength, clarity, and sense of self.
You deserve to feel supported, understood, and empowered in your healing. I’m here to walk alongside you every step of the way.

As a Bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker and therapist in California, I specialize in supporting individuals navigating complex emotional landscapes. My journey deeply enriches my perspective: I immigrated to the USA more than 25 years ago and have since had the privilege of working with diverse communities across Ecuador, Guatemala, and the USA.
My early professional life focused on economic justice in Ecuador and microfinance with Indigenous women in Guatemala. For the last 15 years, I've served in the child welfare system as a Child Protective Social Worker, where I've had the honor of collaborating with clients to support better changes for children, families, and communities.
My name is Tanasia Betts and I am a licensed professional counselor.
