I enjoy working with individuals who are motivated for personal growth and/or are wanting to work towards freedom from an issue that is causing undue suffering. Patients who are excited to learn about and understand themselves better will be able to heal themselves and their relationships.
My goal is to help patients see the potential of what they can create for themselves. I have worked with people from a variety of backgrounds suffering from many different issues. My practice is a patient-centered, empathic, solution-focus approach using an eclectic blend of evidence-based interventions.
What can clients expect from their first session with you?In the first session, I gather information, explore the client's history, and identify their current concerns. My goal is also to help clients gain knowledge about my practice and my approach as a clinician.
I’m a psychologist with over 18 years of experience supporting individuals through a compassionate, client-centered approach. My background in leadership, hospital care, and outpatient settings helps me tailor treatment to each person’s unique needs. I offer holistic therapy grounded in humanistic, cognitive behavioral, and mindfulness-based approaches, and I specialize in supporting clients with mood challenges, stress, and personal growth.
I am Kathleen Phalen, LCSW, a licensed clinical therapist with over 28 years' experience in mental health care. I believe prioritizing mental health is key to happiness, health, and stability in life. Seeking help can be challenging, and I want to help you feel comfortable starting your work, on your healing journey.
My goal is to provide a safe environment for my clients to come and talk about their thoughts, behaviors, and emotions, and work towards positive self-acceptance and love.
My mission is to create more safety for all through creativity and collective liberation. I know from personal and professional experience that healing from trauma is a challenging journey and I am glad you're here to take these first steps. As a counseling psychologist my focus is on trauma healing, creative arts therapies, and cultural identity. I serve creative people, gifted & neurodivergent people, and LGBTQIA+ persons.
I help people find relief from ADHD, depression, and trauma. I partner with those who feel at war with themselves and/or others and engage in negative patterns but struggle to stop it.
I get it because I have experienced this myself. I was inspired to become a therapist because of my own positive experiences in therapy. With honesty and a touch of humor, I utilize my specialized training in combination with my personal experiences to help people feel understood, seen, accepted, and ultimately have hope for the future.
We can’t change what happened to get to this point, but we can change how we move forward. I’d be honored to be part of that with you. Let's get started.
I specialize in supporting adults navigating anxiety, depression, stress, substance use, addiction and recovery, and life transitions. I also work with individuals living with disabilities, chronic illness, dual diagnoses, and those adjusting to major life changes—whether that’s an empty nest, a new diagnosis, or the weight of uncertainty. I’ve supported individuals moving through cancer treatment and understand the emotional toll health challenges can bring. My role is to be a steady support system—someone who listens deeply, sits with you without judgment, and helps you build coping tools that make everyday life feel lighter and more manageable.
