I received my Master’s degree at UW-Oshkosh. I knew that I always wanted to know more about the treatment of trauma, because I had always felt the mind and the body worked together. While I was getting my Master’s degree, I also received training in EMDR, so I was able to really explore the ins and outs of trauma treatment early in my career.
I worked for 12 years at Green Lake County in management positions where I learned so much from the people I served and the people I worked with. I eventually became the unit manager and was responsible for running 7 different behavioral health programs. I loved my job, but I missed the counseling, and in 2012, I opened private practice and returned to my passion of learning and teaching about the mind/body connection.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience working with individuals in various settings including individually, those in residential care and those in an inpatient hospital setting. Being a woman and a mother allows me to bring lived understanding, empathy, and attunement to the unique challenges women and mothers face. My personal experience helps me relate to the emotional demands, identity shifts, and pressures that can contribute to anxiety, depression, and unhealthy ways to cope including, disordered eating and substance use. This perspective supports my ability to create a safe, validating space where clients feel understood while working collaboratively toward healing, self‐compassion, and sustainable change.
