Every single person has seasons of struggle, phases of life where changes and stressors become too challenging to handle alone. Whether deep unresolved pain is coming to the surface once again and interfering with your day to day, or perhaps it’s a fight just to get through each day, regardless of where you are at in your own story, I believe we all need support and a little extra help to get through from time to time.
I grew up a carpenter’s son and followed his example in my early adulthood. By my mid 20’s I began working with others by teaching guitar, after school sports, yoga, and meditation while continuing to work as a handyman. From 2012-2014 I was fortunate enough to be able to teach High School Psychology classes that included Adolescent Social Psychology, Intro to Psychology, and Positive Psychology. For my practicum in 2012 I spent a year at James Lick High School in East San Jose, CA working with individuals and groups. From 2013-2016 I was a community-based therapist meeting clients in their homes, at their schools, or in the community. I provided individual and family support throughout Santa Clara County. This was an invaluable training that allowed me to see what people would talk about in session, since I would be in their homes with them and often see the issues firsthand. In 2017 I worked at Brightquest Treatment Center in La Mesa, CA. This was an incredible experience. I worked in this residential facility with folks with severe psychiatric disorders that often also involved addiction. The intense nature of the treatment and regular interaction with clients provided a unique learning experience and genuine connections. I learned a great deal from the residential Milieu Therapy approach.
I also had the opportunity to work as a Military Family Life Counselor, supporting military service members and their families. I feel that I learned a lot and, since I was a Navy brat, I derived a great deal of meaning being able to give back to service members in this way.
Since 2018 I have been working in private practice helping children, teens, adults, and families in person and online. I continue to work on my professional development by studying, taking trainings, consulting with colleagues, and working to practice what I learn in a balanced way.
I have my BA in psychology from Saint Martin’s University and an MSW from the University of Washington. I became a licensed independent clinical social worker providing individual and couples therapy, parenting assessments and group therapy work. I also have experience in medical social work.
I’ve spent 10 years working with teens and families, and I care deeply about helping people feel understood. I create a space where you can be yourself and feel a sense of belonging, without judgment. I value both family connection and your privacy. Most of all, I believe real change starts with a genuine, comfortable relationship.
¡Hola! I'm Leidy, a bilingual (English and Spanish) therapist. I work with adults navigating major life transitions, grief and loss, fertility issues, anxiety, depression, PTSD, family transitions and more. Many of the people I work with are in the middle of something big, whether that's a loss, a shift in their family, a fertility journey, or simply a season of life that feels heavier than expected, and they're looking for a space where they can finally exhale.
I'm originally from the Dominican Republic, and Spanish is my first language. As an immigrant myself, I understand what it's like to navigate multiple worlds, identities, and expectations. I'm also the proud parent of a son with autism, so I know firsthand what it's like to walk through major life transitions, advocate for your family, and find strength you didn't know you had. These experiences shape the way I show up for my clients every day.
My background is rooted in community work. I spent years in non-profit organizations supporting diverse communities, and that experience taught me the importance of meeting people where they are, honoring their culture, language, strengths, and identities. I believe in creating individualized treatment plans that reflect the whole of who you are.
Mental health has been a deeply personal passion of mine for most of my life — growing up with a family history of mental health challenges gave me an early understanding of how much the right support can change someone's life. I specialize in treating ADHD, anxiety, and depression, and I work with many clients who come to me feeling anxious, overwhelmed, burned out, and unsure of where to turn. What sets me apart is that I genuinely listen — not just to what you're saying, but to what's beneath it. Outside of my work, you can find me hiking, spending time at the beach, or getting lost in music, all of which remind me of the importance of balance and restoration, values I bring into my practice every day.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step—whether you’re new to counseling or returning after past experiences. Maybe you already know your goals, or perhaps you just know something needs to change. You might be facing relationship challenges, stress, or uncertainty about what comes next. Therapy is a safe space to slow down, sort through what feels overwhelming, and gain clarity. Together, we’ll explore your needs and create a plan that helps you move toward greater confidence, healthier connections, and a more fulfilling life.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and founder of Niyama Integrative Therapy. I provide trauma-informed therapy for adults navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and complex relational patterns. Many of the clients I work with are capable and high-functioning on the outside, while internally carrying chronic stress, unresolved trauma, or emotional exhaustion. You may be navigating burnout, relationship strain, identity shifts, or long-standing family dynamics that still shape how you move through the world.
