Life is about maintaining balance in all aspects, through love. There is so much out there to learn and grow from, so why not have fun doing it? A little about me: I love going to CrossFit every morning. I am a huge nerd, constantly listening to audibles and/or podcasts such as Huberman Lab and non-fiction books. I enjoy being outdoors: snowboarding, motorcycle/dirt biking, hiking, any movement &traveling. My parents are from Peru, so I visit there often. Tambien hablo español! Therapy can help your understanding of where your emotions come from connecting the past to the present, and decreasing the intensity by making sense of it.
Hi, I’m Salina Mecham. I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Social Work from the University of Utah, along with certification in substance use treatment. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Master Addiction Counselor (MAC), and Domestic Violence Intervention Treatment Counselor (DVP), and I am fully licensed in Utah, Washington, New Hampshire, and New Jersey.
I have experience working with adolescents and adults in a variety of settings, including residential programs, behavioral health hospitals, and community mental health. I began my career in group homes for youth, where I developed a strong foundation in working with individuals in high-stress and high-need situations. Since then, I have continued to support individuals navigating mental health challenges, substance use, trauma, relationship concerns, and life transitions.
I am a trained Level 1 Gottman therapist (working on Level 2), this is helpful to those struggling with relationship issues. I am also a trained Level 1 IFS therapist, which is a great modality for people struggling with PTSD, depression, anxiety, etc. I have invested countless hours in learning other helpful modalities and concepts that add to my knoweldge.
People tend to seek me out because they are looking for someone who feels normal and approachable. Sure, I have a quirk or two, but people often describe talking with me as feeling like they are talking with an old friend who happens to know a lot of mental health specific things and who gives solid counsel and makes them feel valid in this crazy world.
With over a decade of experience as a licensed clinical social worker, I specialize in helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, work-life balance, and women’s issues. While I offer a supportive and empathetic space, I also believe in gently challenging clients to promote growth. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck in old patterns, or simply need a space to process, I’m here to help you reconnect with your strengths and move toward the life you want to live.
I received a Master of Social Work degree through the University of Utah and have been practicing clinical social work for over 37 years. I am a veteran having served in the United States Air Force. I deployed to Iraq in 2006-7 where I provided mental health services for men and women of the armed forces in a combat stress clinic. I have a breadth of experience working with adolescents, individuals and couples addressing issues surrounding depression, anxiety, mood dysregulation, ADHD, grief, trauma, addictions and more. I am married and enjoy spending time outdoors with my wife and our adult children and grandchildren.
I have been in recovery from trauma, alcohol and relationship addiction for 35 years. My goal is to help others find purpose and strength through trauma informed care that involves self-exploration without shaming-a path to moving from existing or surviving to actually living; making peace with the past instead of pretending we're ok or hiding how we feel.
I earned a Master's degree in Addiction Counseling from the University of Great Falls, MT in 2005 and a Master's in Human Resources with a counseling emphasis from Capella University in 2010.
I help clients explore their sense of self, accept who they are, and live a fulfilling life. Whether you’re getting to know yourself and figuring out identities, feeling misaligned, or recovering from trauma related to relationships, sex, or sexuality and gender, I can meet you where you’re at. It is an honor and a privilege to be invited into the most sensitive parts of life to work towards a sense of safety, fun, and authenticity.
Do you feel stuck in a cycle of anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, or even thoughts of suicide? Has it become difficult to remember what it feels like to live with joy, purpose, or peace? Mental health symptoms can become so overwhelming that they overshadow hope itself, making healing seem out of reach. But recovery is possible—with the right support, guidance, and a treatment plan that truly honors your whole self. I’m Michelle, a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who believes in getting to the root of what’s causing your pain rather than offering short-term band-aids.
