I would describe myself as warm, creative, and affirming. I am a somatic-based therapist trained in EMDR and Somatic Experiencing. In 2016, I earned my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Texas. I have worked with a variety of individuals in hospital and outpatient settings. I see clients between the ages of 13 and 75 and am a LGBTQIQA+ ally.
Welcome to Clinic at Cedar Springs (www.cedarspringsclinic.com) - Hello! As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, I help clients find balance and feel better using an approach that is always compassionate and non-judgmental. My practice is dedicated to providing psychiatric care, including medication management. I have a special interest for the LGBTQIA+ community and for Addiction and substance use disorders, including Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT). My goal is to work with you to manage symptoms, support your recovery, and help you live an authentic, healthy life. I look forward to connecting with you.
Maybe you are struggling in a relationship that seems exhausting. You can never seem to get anything right or make anything work. Maybe you are experiencing feelings of powerlessness and anxiety, where everyone wants something from you, but you don't seem to be getting what you want or need from them. Maybe you are having trouble connecting and feeling a sense of emptiness or loneliness. I can help you make sense of what's going on and how to find your way to the other side of this.
As a licensed clinical social worker, I specialize in helping adults, women, veterans, BIPOC, and military families navigate the emotional weight of anxiety, trauma, and burnout. My approach is warm, direct, and deeply collaborative — I believe therapy should feel like a safe conversation with someone who truly gets it.
I use evidence-based modalities such as🧠 Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-CBT); 🧘 Mindfulness and Acceptance-Based Therapies (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy-ACT); and ❤️ Relationship and Family Therapies (Family Systems Therapy). My desire is to help clients begin to heal at the root, not just manage symptoms. Together, we’ll uncover the patterns keeping you stuck and gently shift the beliefs that no longer serve you. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, confident, and emotionally free — not just in therapy, but in your everyday life.
First, I applaud you for seeking counseling during these ever-changing times. It is challenging to recognize the need in achieving a goal and more challenging to seek out help. I am a licensed professional counselor supervisor with a Masters in Clinical & Counseling Psychology. I am board certified and have certifications in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, DBT certification, Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional (CIMHP)and Anxiety & Depression certification.
I work to meet you where you are and assist individuals struggling to improve mental health. I am devoted to helping you achieve a better quality of life.
