I have had the privilege of working with individuals who deal with substance abuse and co-occurring issues for 4+ years. I also have experience treating individuals with depression, anxiety, OCD, body image issues, adjustment disorders, grief, and trauma . I received my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2019. I received my EMDR training in 2020 and integrate this into my counseling as needed.
I’m Megan, and I help people reconnect- whether that’s with your partner, your purpose, your people, or yourself.
I’m not the kind of therapist who stares at you and nods for an hour. I’m a real person, just like you—with a sense of humor, a healthy dose of empathy, and a deep respect for how hard life can get sometimes. I’m a Marriage and Family Therapist, which is a fancy way of saying that I’m a therapist wired to help you untangle complex emotional knots in your relationships, trauma, and all the nuanced ways disconnection shows up in our lives.
I’ve been doing this work for over a decade, and in that time, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside a lot of people as they navigate some of the most difficult and meaningful parts of their lives. My background includes extensive work with military veterans and couples—two groups of people who often carry a lot, sometimes silently. For many, it’s hard to name- but it’s heavy.
Hi! I'm so glad you found your way here. Therapy is often the first step to becoming the best version of ourselves! Depending on where you are my approach is to help you define the life you want, set goals and support your efforts through talk therapy. Sometimes that means unpacking past trauma, other times it means focusing on the here and now! Together we will decide what's best based on where you are currently and where you'd like to see yourself in 30, 60, 90 days and beyond!
I truly enjoy helping people to heal and become who they are wanting to show up as in their lives. I believe everyone should have the opportunity to work through life's challenges, emotions, stresses, etc.. I feel truly privileged to be allowed to aid others in their time of need and if you are a human, guess what you are currently in a time of need, we all are.
After 15 years in tech marketing, I went to the University of Texas at Arlington to earn my Master's in Social Work. Upon graduation, I worked toward my clinical license at a Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Program. Here, I worked with clients with severe mental health problems to find stability and gain the tools necessary to find success in life after program. This setting allowed me to work across the full spectrum of mental health issues, specifically with mood and personality disorders, trauma, self-harm, suicidal ideation, psychosis, and other high-acuity issues.
