My name is Angel Kammeyer and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I am originally from California but have lived in Oregon since 2014. I received a Master’s Degree in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling. I also completed a B.S. in Psychology at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, OR. I have worked in various positions within the community mental health field for over ten years. And I look forward to a long career where my community members, especially people of color, veterans, women, and individuals needing a cheerleader and advocate in their corner, can receive the care that they deserve.
I believe in creating a safe space for individuals to be vulnerable, open, and honest. As we work together, I will use my skills and voice to empower you to share your narrative. Therapy is a journey and I encourage you to take things one day at a time and know that you are worthy and powerful beyond measures. I want to understand you as a person and hope that you will soon be able to see yourself for who you are and not by what society or your diagnosis tells you. Seeking mental health treatment is a big step and I want to celebrate this journey with you.
Welcome. Thank you for taking the first step toward wholeness. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist who focuses on systemic and relational healing. This includes journeying with my clients through ancestral, childhood, and adulthood life challenges to help them access and address pain.
In my 60+ years of life experience and 30+ years of work as a therapist, I have learned that life is hard and at times painful. That we at times endure great suffering, we get stuck, and unable to move forward on our life’s journey or unable to feel the connection to our Source, to life, to our relationships with others, or to find joy. This is common and universal in our life experience. There are things that we do, conditioned physical responses, unhealthy thought patterns and ruminating on story lines which can amplify our suffering, contribute to our being stuck and interfere with our ability to experience the joy of living.
