Welcome! My name is Chaynna Clark and I’m Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I am a bilingual first-generation Afro Latina. I use she/her pronouns.
I have worked in community-based clinics in both Rochester, NY and New York City. I have years of experience working with children, teens, and adults. I’ve supported individuals through a wide range of issues, including, trauma, life transitions, depression, anxiety, cultural identity, self-esteem, and relationship issues.
I truly love the work I do. As a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, I'm committed to helping individuals grow, heal and reach their full potential. I specialize in treating mood disorders, anxiety disorders, ADHD and trauma-related conditions.
I am an anti-racist and LGBTQ-Affirming trauma therapist who has worked with veterans, military personnel, and civilians for 20+ years. I am honored to work with clients on their self-defined goals to achieve more peaceful and satisfying lives, especially as related to healing mental injuries from discrimination and abuse.
My areas of expertise include workplace trauma, racial trauma, institutional betrayal, suicide prevention, family scapegoat abuse, workplace mobbing, and self-acceptance in a hostile world.
As a Queer, Xicana of Mexican, Indigenous, Irish, and Czech ancestry who was raised by a gay parent, I know from lived experience, the importance of culturally-responsive care that recognizes the harm of systemic and interpersonal oppression and stigma. I delight in working with people from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences including neurodiversity, various religious and spiritual communities, and people living with visible and invisible disabilities.
As a care provider for a person living with long COVID, I understand the challenges and importance of COVID-cautious lifestyles for people who have compromised immune systems or who want to avoid long COVID.
With a BA from the University of California, Santa Cruz, an MSW from Washington University in St. Louis, and a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, my practice is rooted in research, celebration of clients' cultural traditions, and awareness that mistreatment, disadvantage, and cruelty cause people to suffer.
I actively work to identify and eradicate my own biases through anti-racist somatic practice and train other clinicians in decolonizing mental health care, psychological safety, and anti-racist suicide prevention.
I use evidence-based practices of Written Exposure Therapy, Motivational Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Prolonged Exposure Therapy.
Hi!
I have been a therapist for over 10 years and love working with college-aged emerging adults.I specialize in supporting clients through anxiety, depression, burnout, ADHD, and times of transition. My background in crisis response and care management has taught me that every person’s story is unique — and that healing happens when we feel truly heard and understood.
I am currently transitioning to full-time hours in August 2026. Please message me if you would like to be added to my priority list for new intake slots.

Hey There!
Welcome to my practice. A bit about me... I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Ohio. I received my degree from Ashland Theological Seminary and am so grateful to have practiced for 11+ years. My clients are incredible people who happen to be dealing with everyday life stressors like difficult relationships or more challenging areas such as anxiety, depression, or trauma.
I believe healing happens in connection — when you feel safe, understood, and empowered to grow.
My practice is inclusive and affirming of all cultural, religious, sexual, LGBTQIA+, and neurodiverse identities, providing a safe, nonjudgmental space where healing/growth can flourish.
I am a level 2 trained trauma trained professional who specializes in treating individuals (10+) couples and families.
Above all, my goal is to create a space where you feel safe, accepted, and empowered to heal — a space where you can explore who you are and what you need, at your own pace and in your own way.
I have found therapy to be the place for the client and the counselor to laugh, cry, decide, and embrace the sacred space of change and acceptance in one’s life. I have served in pastoral ministry for eighteen years along with five years as a clinical counselor. I feel that I bring a pastor’s heart of empathy, patience, and compassion into my therapeutic work. I do enjoy serving clients with varied needs and of all faiths.
