For the last 19+ years I've helped some of New York's bravest, most creative beings dial down/alleviate distress of many flavors, shapes and sizes.
I show up as a calm, grounded, and fully present partner in your process. I value authenticity and emotional safety, and I will meet you with curiosity, respect, and without judgment. I’m not here to “fix” you, but to help you better understand yourself, your patterns, and what feels most aligned for you. Our work together is collaborative, thoughtful, and centered on building insight, resilience, and a deeper trust in yourself.
Therapy is a wonderful opportunity to gain a deeper sense of fulfillment in your life. Whether you’re new to therapy or have tried many different types of treatment, I’m here to help you. I am a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor, specializing in addiction, anxiety, depression, stress management, life transitions and other behavioral health concerns. My therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges.
Thank you for your willingness to show up for yourself by reaching out for help. This part of your journey may be a bit uneasy, but you are already on your way to better. I am looking forward to meeting with you so we can discuss things further. I attended Howard University where I obtained by master's degree in social work. I have been in this field for more then thirteen years. I have worked with men, women, children, and adolescents with a variety of diagnoses, and psychiatric backgrounds.
I bring over 15 years of experience working with children, families, and schools to help people understand their emotions, strengthen relationships, and build the tools they need to thrive. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that we all do the best we can with the tools we have—and that with the right support, we can grow and heal.
I am a Columbia University trained psychotherapist and have been practicing therapy for the past 16 years. My style of practice is interactive and relational. This means we will work together and build a relationship from which we can work through what you need help with. I tend to be transparent and will share my thoughts with you. This will be an active therapy experience where we will use our smarts and strengths collaboratively to bring about change. My post graduate training in couple and family therapy gives me a deep understanding of how to help individuals, couples and families struggling with relationship issues.
I believe that we are all best understood when space is made for all that impacts us- including our gender, class, race, sexual orientation, families of origin and how all these parts of us intersects with social context, history and the world around us. I specialize in couple and family therapy and also have extensive experience providing individual therapy
If you would like to see if we would be a good match to work together, the next step would be to set up a 10-15 minute call. Please feel free to call me or you reach out via email to schedule a time for us to talk by phone.
