I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with five years of experience providing psychotherapy. Have you exhausted all tools and is facing infidelity, depression and anxiety and you are looking to improve your mental health and repair your marriage ? Well you have found the right place! I’m hear to listen to you without prejudgments. Let’s work this out together !
There was a time when I felt trapped by anxiety, depression, and overwhelm. I spent years feeling like I was constantly reacting to the world around me—easily overwhelmed, shutting down, and unsure how to move forward. I was living in a hypervigiliant state - always on edge, feeling unsafe in relationships and in my aloneness. This was also followed with depressive states followed by shame and guilt. Working with a Practitioner in Somatic Experiencing has transformed my emotional well being by helping my brain and body recognize safety and reducing my sensitivity to unpleasant sensations and arousal. I now feel more in control, I welcome unpleasant bodily sensations when they show up, and feel more safe in my body.

I first received my Master's in Guidance & Counseling in the 1990s from Hunter College in Manhattan and obtained an Advanced Certificate in Mental Health Counseling from the University at Buffalo. I have also been a practicing, licensed massage therapist for nearly 30 years. I have clinical experience providing empathic mental health care for individuals, couples, families, and groups and have treated anxiety, trauma, depression, personality and eating disorders, as well as other mental health concerns. I have also treated physical disease conditions and physical trauma with mind/body techniques. Each client is unique, and raising awareness of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors is the focus in working collaboratively and intentionally towards realistic solutions.
I like to help my clients recreate their narrative through expressive forms of art. In my practice I've only ever had clients who were visionaries. After all, aren't visionaries those who see things others don't see ... yet? Here's to system redesign!
I'm Martha, a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and the owner of Mosaic Psychiatry & Psychotherapy. I offer virtual mental health medication management and psychotherapy services based out of Brooklyn, NY.
I bring 16 years of nursing experience to my practice, and am dedicated to providing holistic, person-centered care across a wide variety of mental health challenges. My approach is rooted in looking at the whole picture of who you are and what your goals are for yourself.
My expertise lies in treating individuals navigating depression, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, and the mental health aspects of chronic disease. Beyond diagnosis, I focus on foundational elements of wellness, including:
I conduct therapy sessions in both English and Spanish. I have experience working with individuals facing challenges related to depression and/or anxiety, as well as those with a history of self-harm and suicidal ideation. I also work with clients to heal from sexual abuse, intimate partner violence, intergenerational trauma, and racial trauma.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in somatic psychotherapy, which acknowledges the mind-body connection and the ways stress is held in the body. As a first-generation Mexican, I am deeply passionate about supporting BIPOC individuals and those from immigrant families.
Additionally, I have a strong background in working with individuals who engage in problematic sexual behavior, as well as those seeking to address an unhealthy relationship with alcohol and drugs.
I’ve been helping people for over 20 years as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and I’m so proud of you for taking this important step toward caring for yourself. It’s not always easy, and it shows strength and courage.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked with individuals of all ages and backgrounds, addressing a wide range of challenges. My experience includes school settings, college multicultural affairs, outpatient drug and alcohol treatment, and mental health counseling.
I also spent nine years in a hospital setting, working in psychiatric emergency services and on adolescent and adult inpatient units. This gave me extensive experience in crisis intervention and in supporting people through both mild and severe mental health concerns. Today, I continue to work in outpatient mental health, helping clients navigate life’s challenges and build resilience.
My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you feel heard and understood. Together, we’ll work toward the changes you want to see in your life. I look forward to working with you.
