As a therapist for adolescents, teens, and young adults, my goal is to be a steady and supportive presence as they work through the unique struggles that come with growing up. I understand the pressures, uncertainties, and opportunities that each stage of life brings, and I’m dedicated to helping my clients build the skills and self-awareness needed to navigate their individual paths. With a collaborative and non-judgmental approach, I encourage open communication, self-expression, and personal empowerment, creating a space where each client can feel heard and valued.
Outside of my professional role, you can often find me lost in the pages of a good book, seeking inspiration and new perspectives. I thrive on adventure, whether it’s exploring the great outdoors or embarking on spontaneous journeys. At home, I find solace in the company of my beloved pets, whose unconditional love and companionship bring joy to my everyday life. These passions enrich my work as a therapist, reminding me daily of the importance of balance, curiosity, and meaningful connections.
If you’re a teen, young adult, or parent looking for support during these uncertain times, know that help is just a click away. Therapy can be a powerful tool in building the skills and confidence needed to thrive, no matter what challenges come your way. Begin your journey of self-discovery and growth in a space where you can truly be yourself. Let’s work together to create a future that feels hopeful, empowered, and authentic.
Hello! I am a seasoned clinician at The Foundry Counseling Center. We believe in forging a new future together. Each of us go through experiences that can act as a crucible for change.
My name is Vanessa Cox. I'm the Founder and CEO of Extensive Prevention Intervention Counseling Services (EPICS) LLC, a professional counseling practice, and the Founder and Board Secretary of EPICS J. R. Foundation. The driving force behind my lifework has been a personal mission to live with integrity and make a difference in the lives of others. With over 30 years of clinical and administrative experience,
I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology and graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Missouri- St. Louis. I'm a licensed clinical therapist in Missouri and have spent the past 4 years working on an acute behavioral health unit seeing a wide range of patients with diverse backgrounds and symptomatic presentations. I have received certifications in trauma studies and believe in the psyche’s natural ability to heal and adapt.
I began my career in community mental health in 2010. I completed my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Evangel University. Prior to becoming a therapist I worked as a nurse for 13 years. This background leads me to take a holistic, whole-person approach to my practice. I work with children, adolescents, and adults and have specialized in treatment of trauma, ADHD, and child-parent conflicts.
