I received my bachelor's degrees from the University of Michigan in Psychology and English in 2012. I subsequently worked full-time in the restaurant industry and trained in yoga prior to pursuing additional formal education. I believe that all of my experiences have contributed to a well-rounded approach to working with people. In 2017, I graduated with my master's degree in Interpersonal Practice & Mental Health from U of M, and have been working full-time in this field ever since.
Hi there, and thank you for visiting my profile. My name is Gabi, and I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). During my graduate training, I focused on mastering Aaron Beck’s CBT approach, which continues to guide my work in helping clients develop insight, strengthen coping skills, and create meaningful change.
I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling and am credentialed to provide Substance Use Disorder (SUD) therapy. I completed advanced Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) training through the Dialectical Behavioral Institute in Michigan, and I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). I also hold specialized certifications in ADHD (CCSP), anger management (CSAM), anxiety treatment (CCATP), and mood disorders.
My clinical experience includes work as a residential therapist, in a faith-based private practice, facilitating counseling services in correctional facilities, and in hospital emergency psychiatric units supporting individuals in crisis. I also provide clinical supervision to other therapists.
I primarily work with adults 18 and older, offering a safe, supportive, and professional environment. My approach is collaborative and evidence-based, integrating CBT and DBT techniques to promote balance, resilience, and personal growth.
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist, with over 20 years of experience working in the field of psychology. Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to be here. I’ve been in practice for over 10 years, and throughout that time I’ve learned that healing looks different for everyone. My work is rooted in trauma-informed care, and I approach each person with curiosity, compassion, and deep respect for their lived experience.
You don’t have to go through things alone. I’m here to walk alongside you as you move toward greater clarity, healing, and self-connection.
My name is Abby Berkey. I am a trauma therapist. I have been working for over 20 years in the field. I am also a certified personal trainer and a nutrition coach.
In my approach to counseling, I use Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focus Therapy and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy as the main approaches to counseling. It is important that each client's needs are met through their counseling experience, therefore, counseling is not limited to the above approaches. Biblical principles are also used as an approach to counseling. Counseling will be provided to a diverse population of individuals. Optimum health and healing is possible if you are willing to do the work! Be Willing!
Are you finding it hard to navigate everyday life? Are your relationships suffering? If you answered “yes” to these questions, please know you CAN live a different life.
