I’m here to support you through whatever life has brought your way. I work with preteens, teens, and adults using simple, evidence-based tools like CBT and TF-CBT to help you understand your feelings and develop healthier ways to cope. I focus on creating a warm and trusting environment where you can talk openly, feel encouraged, and begin to make positive changes. My hope is that you leave sessions feeling stronger, more aware, and more in control of your life.
👋 Hey there! I'm Shira. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in private practice, offering telehealth-only sessions in NY and Florida. With compassion and a touch of humor, I work with young adults navigating “life stuff” — the heavy topics that aren’t always welcome elsewhere, like anxiety, depression, childhood, family, and relationship dynamics, and transition-related stress (moving between states, entering the workforce, relationships — you name it). I’m here for you through it all.
The young adults I work with come from all walks of life. Some are stepping into therapy for the very first time, while others are returning with the hope of going deeper in their personal growth. If you're feeling the pressure of life, or just trying to make sense of your emotions — or you're dealing with anxiety, family dynamics, or feeling stuck — you're not alone. Therapy with me is a space to sort through the messy middle and build clarity and confidence.
I earned my PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Florida and received clinical training in hospital and college counseling settings at the University of Florida, Northwestern University, and New College of Florida. I specialize in individual therapy with adults in their 20s, 30s, and 40s struggling with anxiety, OCD, trauma responses, adjustment stress, or identity struggles that make it difficult to balance the many demands of modern life.
As adults in this society, the pressures of adjusting to life changes, both expected and unexpected, and living up to the expectations of ourselves and others can feel overwhelming. This often results in perfectionism, low self-confidence, relationship difficulties, work difficulties, loss of meaning, depression, or burnout. Therapy can be a helpful way to address this.
Are you feeling overwhelmed? Experiencing transitions or periods of uncertainty? Are you going through a phase of impactful life changes? Such as moving to a new area, relationship transitions, career changes or even being on your own for the first time. I have experience working with young adults and college student's, helping them manage and find solutions during crucial periods in their life.
