I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who believes deeply in people’s capacity to heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves. I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, where my training emphasized on relational, trauma-informed, and socially conscious care. These are all values that continue to guide my work today.
I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, and trauma; including childhood wounds, relational trauma, and complex PTSD. Often these experiences leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves, others, and the world around us. You may feel stuck in patterns that once helped you survive but no longer served you. My goal is to offer a space where you don’t have to carry those experiences alone, where you can gain insight into what may be standing between you and the life you imagine, and begin to reconnect with the strengths that have always been within you.
Dr. Chihombori-Quao (CHEE-hom-bow-REE KWOW) is a psychiatrist with dual board certification in Psychiatry and Family Medicine who delivers compassionate, multidisciplinary, and trauma-informed care via tele-health in California.
She graduated from Yale School of Medicine in 2018 and completed residency in UC Davis’ selective Combined Family Medicine and Psychiatry Residency in 2023. Since then, she has continued to work in numerous settings including Public Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, and Correctional Psychiatry.
When she’s not enjoying her life’s work, she enjoys music, dancing, volleyball, basketball, and spending time with her family and pets (she devotes a significant amount of time to petting animals!).
If you've found your way here, you might be carrying a heavy, silent weight. The journey through infertility or the transition into postpartum can be a deeply isolating and overwhelming experience, often filled with unspoken grief, anxiety, and pressure. You are not alone in this. This is a space dedicated to creating a compassionate, non-judgmental environment where you can feel seen, heard, and truly understood. There is no need to pretend that everything is okay or carry this burden alone. In sessions, experiences can be processed, coping strategies developed, and a reconnection with your authentic self can be achieved
Welcome to my practice. I have a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and I am a licensed psychologist in the state of California. I have many years of experience working with a variety of clients including: children, veterans, hospital inpatients and outpatients, mental health clinics, and individuals in private practice. My orientation is cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT) and I received my year-long training and became a consultant at the Atlanta Center for Cognitive Behavior Therapy. I also believe that trust is a central part of therapy and it is my responsibility to earn your trust. It is incredibly important that I have an accurate understanding of you, your situation and any problems you may be facing currently. I will rely on your guidance to ensure my understanding of you is accurate.

As a therapist I have a genuine interest in humans and human behavior. I have been in the Mental Health Field since 2006. I have had multiple experiences that has helped me to be aware of problems that individuals may face today. I use CBT, SFT, and other Modalities using a humanistic approach to understand and guide you. I accept you as you are and will guide you with all training and experiences as the backdrop. I believe that life is a journey with many surprises.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with 15 years of experience holding cross-state licensure in California and Nevada. I work with a wide range of populations and specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and life transitions. I am a firm believer that in order to achieve overall wellness, one must place priority on creating a life that feels good on the inside rather than a life that looks good from the outside. The wider the discrepancy between the two, the greater the distress and unhappiness we experience within ourselves.
My desire to become a therapist started when I was 14 years old. As the unofficial therapist for my high school peers, I witnessed the adverse effects of family problems on their mental and emotional health.
In my free time, I’m passionate about trying new cuisines, discovering new destinations through travel, playing board games, dancing, and enjoying good food with my family and friends.
