I’m Dr. Denise Moore, LCSW, a therapist with more than 20 years of experience walking alongside children, teens, and adults on their healing journey. I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from CSU Sacramento and completed my Doctor of Social Work at Loma Linda University. I’ve been licensed for over 18 years and have devoted my career to trauma-informed, relationship-centered care.
My practice, Root to Rise Therapy and Wellness, is built on the belief that when we understand the roots of our patterns, we can rise into healthier, more authentic ways of relating. I help clients explore attachment wounds, communication struggles, dating and relationship challenges, breakups, and self-esteem concerns. Together, we look at how early experiences shape your current relationships and sense of self, and we work toward confidence, clarity, and deeper connection.
I offer a warm, grounded, and supportive space for anyone seeking to heal old patterns, strengthen self-worth, and build relationships that feel secure, honest, and aligned.

I believe healing begins with meaningful connection. My work with cancer patients and their families has deeply shaped my understanding of pain, loss, resilience, and the complexities that relationships face during times of crisis. I support adults of all ages in navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, loneliness, grief, and relationship concerns, offering both compassionate guidance and practical, effective tools for growth and healing.
My experience is centered on collaborating with youth, adults, and families. During these developing years and shifting dynamics, additional care for our health is needed. I work with emotional regulation, relational rifts, enhancing communication, and acceptance of self.
With attachment focused therapy as my base, I utilize mindfulness and experiential approaches in our work together. Our conversations and therapeutic activities are guided by your experience and goals.
I specialize in working with neurodivergent adults (ADHD, autism), LGBTQIA individuals, and those navigating chronic illness, burnout, and perimenopause or menopause. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or like nothing they’ve tried has worked.
You might feel like you’re constantly “too much” and “not enough” at the same time, or like simple things take more energy than they should. That’s not a personal failure—it’s a sign that your brain and body need different kinds of support.
With over twelve years of experience, I offer therapy that is warm, affirming, and practical. I help clients reduce overwhelm, build coping tools that actually work, and better understand how their brain and body function.
My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and supported as you build a life that works for you.
