I received my Masters in Social Welfare and Pupil Personnel Services Credential from UCLA and my undergraduate degree in English Literature at UCSD. I have worked for 15 years in community mental health and in the school setting. I'm a seasoned professional who has walked alongside my clients to make sense of trauma, loss and the impacts of depression and anxiety. Seeing my clients make peace, set boundaries and be able to communicate their needs with themselves and others brings me great joy and satisfaction in my practice.
My name is William Dexter I am a LMFT licensed marriage family therapist. I am devoted to the health, well-being, and safety of clients and have lived a clean and sober lifestyle for over thirty years. My approach to therapy is to focus on relationships with yourself, with others, and with your Higher Power or GOD as you understand him. I believe the problem is not knowing who you are, and the solution is finding out who you are.
I’m Maria, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over twelve years of experience working with families, children, and adults. My work has focused on breaking generational cycles of trauma and navigating challenging life transitions. In my work I have supported individuals and families through growing up, raising their children, and bringing healing and harmony into the home. I am deeply passionate about helping others on their journeys toward personal growth and a better quality of life and consider it a gift to be an agent of change.
In addition to my clinical work, I am also a working mother of a college student and clinically supervise and train other clinicians. This experience gives me a unique perspective and understanding on navigating life transitions and balancing multiple roles.
My approach is warm, affirmative, and solution-oriented – with some humor mixed in. While it can feel intimidating to take that first step, if you are ready, I can guide you in finding areas of strength while also challenging areas for growth in a compassionate way. Together we can work toward healing in a safe environment and create positive change to improve your quality of life.
I have been helping families and individuals find a path of healing for 20 years. I have additional training in hypnosis for those who would like to try it.
Have you hit a point where life's demands leave you drained and empty, despite following all the "right" steps for a fulfilling life? Going through the motions, lacking passion, and being shaped by others' expectations, you've lost touch with your true self. Confidence is replaced by self-doubt, an inner voice whispers inadequacy. I specialize in supporting burnout, cultural stress, grief, trauma, and stress management. Therapy with me is like a deep conversation with a friend.
I specialize in trauma and PTSD. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Level 2 (Evergreen Cert #903284) and I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Flash technique, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT Certified, Evergreen Cert #185604), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Seeking Safety (SS), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Christian Behavioral Science, amongst other evidenced-based therapeutic modalities.
I have a Master’s degree in Family Therapy and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with specialization in Depth Psychology. That means I’m going to work both with your responses to the external system that you live in and with the deep psychological parts of you that go back to your childhood. Finally, I am certified in Hypnosis and have several years of meditation and mindfulness training, and also use those perspectives to help my clients.
I am a passionate clinical therapist who loves working with children, women, couples and families going through challenging times. Are you and your your child having trouble communicating? Are you and your spouse having trouble communicating? Do you see them going through a hard time, long to help but don't know how? Do you suffer from Bipolar Disorder? I am here for you. Do you feel undone by anxiety or depression and don't know how to "shake it off"?
I am a Bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience working with diverse populations. Starting your healing journey can seem overwhelming and lonely. My aim is to walk alongside and help you gain a better understanding of how your experiences have impacted the way you approach life. I believe in a person centered approach as you are the expert of your life and your life experiences, so collaborative we will write your new narrative.
