I became a psychiatric nurse practitioner because I did my own work first — after years in a career that looked fine from the outside and felt hollow on the inside, something finally clicked. I live with ADHD and ASD myself, and I'll be direct: it makes me better at this. I'm wired to hold fine details and the big picture simultaneously, connect patterns across a history, and notice what other providers might miss. I work especially well with children and adolescents (ages 6+), perinatal and antepartum folks, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and people who are AFAB or identify as women — many navigating ADHD, autism, PTSD, PMDD, OCD, mood disorders, or a diagnosis that never quite fit. If previous providers didn't get the full picture of you, that's exactly the gap I'm here to close.
Hello, and welcome! My name is Convince Njiru and I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). I’m passionate about providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care that empowers individuals to achieve balance, healing, and personal growth.
I earned my Master of Science in Nursing from Purdue University , where I received specialized training in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment across the lifespan. My clinical experience includes working with individuals facing depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, Schizophrenia, trauma-related disorders, and other mental health challenges.
In my practice, I take a holistic and collaborative approach — integrating medication management, psychotherapy techniques, and lifestyle interventions to create individualized care plans. I believe that mental health care should be accessible, judgment-free, and tailored to each person’s unique story.
Whether you’re seeking help for the first time or continuing your mental health journey, I strive to provide a safe, supportive space where you can feel heard and understood.
Hello. I'm a board-certified psychiatrist (American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology) serving adult clients in Oregon and Washington. I specialize in treating adults through telepsychiatry video visits through a combination of talk therapy and medication management. I also offer combined psychiatry and addictions treatment, including using medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder.
Thank you for stopping by! I wish you well.
As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I specialize in thoughtful, evidence-based psychiatric care for adults. My approach blends clinical expertise with a deep respect for each person’s lived experience. I believe the best outcomes happen when patients feel heard, understood, and actively involved in their treatment.
Over the past decade, I’ve worked across a range of settings—including outpatient clinics, residential treatment centers, correctional facilities, and telehealth platforms. Each environment has shaped my trauma-informed approach and strengthened my commitment to meeting people where they are. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I spent over 10 years as a registered nurse in both medical-surgical and behavioral health, including work as a sexual assault nurse examiner—a role that deepened my compassion and sharpened my sense of advocacy.
Whether we’re navigating medication management, complex diagnoses, or life transitions, I strive to create a collaborative space where you feel supported, seen, and empowered to take the next step toward wellness.
